2018 Registered AQHA Palomino Gelding – “Tyson” – 15.1hh
Tyson is a 2018 Palomino gelding standing approximately 15.1hh (will measure to confirm). He’s ready to find his person and get out into the world.
In September 2024, Tyson sustained an injury that did not involve any tendons or ligaments. I'm happy to discuss full details with serious inquiries—he has recovered well and is going sound under saddle.
This gelding is a true all-rounder with a great brain and a willing attitude. He’s been started on the barrel pattern, has had a rope swung off him without issue, and has all the makings of a solid high school rodeo mount with a bit more time. Tyson is confident and steady in various environments—arenas, trails, pasture, and working cattle. Tyson has been hauled to NUMEROUS arenas this year, indoor and outdoors. He even got to dabble in goat tying this year!
He:
Leads, loads, ties, bathes, and hauls well
Stands quietly for the farrier (currently barefoot, has been shod before)
Rides out alone or in a group
Is not spooky, even with highway traffic and heavy machinery
Packs a flag, can be ponied and pony others
Rides bareback and in a halter
LOVES working cattle and is excellent on the trails and checking fence
He’s been exposed to goats, sheep, dogs, chickens, ducks, and more—nothing seems to rattle him. Tyson is middle-to-bottom of the pecking order and has lived harmoniously with studs, mares, yearlings, and foals.
He stands at the gate waiting to be caught and loves to work. Tyson deserves someone with the time to give him the attention and consistency he thrives on—we simply have too many horses on the go. He’s a good-looking gelding with a kind eye and an even better personality.
